A black hole of 23 sun masses but just 141 km in diameter passes in front of a blue giant star. Luckily they are 12 light-hours apart or one would devour the other. Black holes are remnants of massive dead stars that collapse into a very small, dense sphere where not even light can escape gravity. Acting as a gravitational lens, it curves light rays from background sources. Created with SpaceEngine. http://en.spaceengine.org/
